Children's Ministry News & Prayer Needs

February 1, 2012

Dear Kathy (and CCY Family),

I want to say happy new year and may you all have a blessed new year! I just came back from the village and found your email waiting. Jerry has been sick since new year and found out that he has typhoid fever apparently got it at the village. He walked to the jungle stream near the village and drank water from the stream so that was when he got sick. He went to doctors but the medicine they gave did not help him so we went to the village to get herbal treatment. But he still does not get well. We will appreciate your prayers for him.

Last year was a very challenging year in Thailand for me. Jerry was away and I have to take over the ministry alone. Thailand has been flooding until now, especially in Bangkok. The news said that the rain will come sooner this year so it will be another disaster for lower lands. It is really hard for those people who live in Bangkok area and other parts of Thailand which is affected by the flood. As a result, all things are getting very expensive. This caused many problems such as shortage of drinking water, food, diseases, trashes scattered all over and everything is chaos.

But the Lord keeps us well in northern parts of Thailand and my work with the children is going well. I thank the Lord for using me to care for these young people. They are going to be good and strong Christian leaders in the future. I can see the potential in them. They continue to grow in the Lord. When I first started the children home they were small kids without any hope for the future but now they become youth with visions and dreams. One of the girls get straight A's at school and she is a student leader and counselor. Others are very good in athletics and one girl want to become a police woman. I believe that she can do it because she is very strong and tough and also does well at school. I have told her about my dear friend police woman in your home care group and I think this gave her the idea and the courage. She said that she could not stand to see and hear about  the women and children are being abused everywhere. I want to help them. So she committed this to the Lord and pray about it. So I have been praying for her and for her dream so that the Lord will guide her with her future. Oh, what a sweet words! I am impressed with her word.

One of our young men at the children home showed me a  letter he wrote to his drug addict parents and to his younger sister. He said, "Dear Dad and Mom, I thank the Lord for saving me not to get involve with drug and I thank God that I get to go to school. I like the school very much and I will go as far as the Lord will give allow me. I thank God that I have this opportunity to learn about Jesus my Savior. I wish you stop doing drug. I know my elder brother is also a drug addict. This makes me very sad. I don't want to see you guys in this situation. But I can not stop or change you guys. The only thing I can do is change myself not to walk into that trap. To my dear sister, you are still very small, but when you are big enough I want you to come  and stay with me at the children's home. I pray that you will have a space and will able to come." This is the boy's letter that he shared with me.

The  little children that I have tried to help but not able to extend help to all who need help because of limited budget. I have been trying to help these children with the funds I receive here and there but I can not continue this without a regular funding. The young people that I am helping now are very important because they soon will become adults and they will need to go on with their lives. Some will have to go to high schools and colleges. They will become the future leaders of the villages community. So I have to focus on this fact. I hope to see them mature and make the right decision for their lives for the Lord and for the rest of their families and for themselves.
So I am trying to get help from other organizations that I know in Thailand to care for the little one. Please pray with me that something will work out for them.

Besides working with the children, the village youth came to our attention. We teach them about Jesus. They wanted to receive Jesus ad their personal Savior. They were baptized. I am very happy to see them make the right decision. In the past these young people were such trouble makers for the villagers and community. I pray that
the Lord will give me wisdom to reach out  more youth. So I do everything I could to have them come to the little children center. They meet at our center to play volley ball, guitars, sing songs and hang out together here. Some times I give them some cookies and drinks and talk to them, teach them, pray with them. I also teach
them English because they want to learn it.  My staffs are my brother and his wife who both graduated from a Bible institute. They help in
tremendously in teaching and training the kids and young people. As a result many drug addicts and alcoholics turned to the Lord and become involve very faithfully in the church activities especially with youth group. These young people became the strong youth leaders of the village. I am so thankful to God for this change. Jerry said that he was amazed to see the change in the village within two years. I give God all the glory and praise for all these good turns. Please find some pictures of these young people are active in the church. I will send more report and pictures letter.

One of the young men was about  blind. I took him to the eye doctor. The doctor said that he really needs eye glass otherwise he will be blind soon. So I made him a pair of eye glasses and he is very happy
and thankful. Now this young man plays guitar at the church and leads the rest of his friends to get involve in the church activities.

These are just a few of my Children ministry report.  I hope this will encourage you and remember me in your thought and prayer. THANK YOU AND MAY THE LORD KEEP AND GIVE YOU PEACE TO HOLD ON TO YOUR FAITH. DO WHAT YOU CAN FOR THE LORD WITH A THANKFUL HEART AND HUMBLE ATTITUDE FOCUS ON JESUS AND THE CROSS, LASTLY AT THE EMPTY TOMB WHICH IS VICTORY!

Yours in Christ

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

After being away from the family for nearly two years, I was so happy to have a warm reunion with my family in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
So with my family this coming Christmas is going to be an exciting event of celebration of Christ's coming to our world. We want to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and new year!

Yesterday we have celebrated a warm and a meaningful Christmas with Chiang Mai Christian Church. I had the privilege to preach
about the meaning of Christmas there. The church was packed with hundreds of worshipers. Praise the Lord. This coming Christmas
day I will be preaching again at the combined Christmas of all Rvwang Christians in Thailand. This Christmas celebration will be held
at our Doi Suket Rvwang Village Church in Chiang Mai. Our Christmas for this year will be a type of convention. We will begin this
celebration from Dec. 23-25 till mid night. It will be a time of preaching, sharing and fellowship. We are so excited. After that
our family will go up to the Karen villages on the mountains to celebrate the new year and I will be preaching the new year message
at several mountain churches. We will appreciate your prayers.

In January my wife and I are planning to go to Burma to conduct the evangelism around the city of Yangon (Rangoon). We will be checking also of the on going ministry with our evangelists. Upon our return we will give update about our activities there. We will appreciate
your prayers that the Lord will guide us and give us the strength and power as we proclaim the Good News of Christ among the Burmese people there and also for our safety. We will be needing the traveling fund. We will appreciate your prayers for this.

We pray that our heavenly Father will bless you as you celebrate this coming Christmas and that may the coming new year be the most
prosperous and blessed year for you all. May the joy of Christmas fill your hearts. Please find the attached family photo at the end.

With Togetherness in His Services,
