Women's Wednesday Morning Bible Study

09/07/2022

9 week study starting on Wednesday September 7th at 9:30 am in person at CCY

Our God is a promise-keeping God. He told Abraham to leave behind his country, his people, and his father's household (Genesis 12:1) and travel to an unknown land. Abraham obeyed, even though he had no idea where he was going (Hebrews 11:6). God also told Abraham his name would be great, he would leave behind a great legacy, and all nations on earth would be blessed through him (Genesis 12:3). Abraham and Sarah were well beyond childbearing years, yet God promised Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and sand on the seashore. God kept those promises and it is through Abraham's descendant, Jesus Christ, that all nations are blessed through faith.
Through this study, you will watch the budding father of a nation question God's plans, take matters into his own hands, and, at times, compromise truth. Abraham made mistakes along his faith journey, but he learned to trust God more fully with each mistake. Abraham eventually grew into a man of great faith and his story reminds us that God is faithful, and His promises are true.
Through Abraham's story, you will gain a greater understanding of the covenant God made with Abraham and his descendants. You will be reminded that God is faithful, even when we are not. As a believer in Jesus, you are a spiritual descendant of Abraham. Abraham's story is your story. As you journey with this great man of faith through the pages of God's Word, you, too, will discover that our God is a promise-keeping God.
